What are your dreams??

Hey friends. ok, cheesy title right? But the other day I was looking at old pictures of all of us and thinking about our individual dreams when we were younger...and then thinking how life turned out. Its just amazing to think about how things have changed! How God has renewed each one of us. Would you do anything different? So I was wanting to know- what are your dreams now? Family? Travel? Careers?
I know we're all sort of standing at a precipice in life. Amy and Shelby have two year olds, Becky's about have her first baby (yaaaaay!!), Tara is traveling the world, Jessa is thinking about school...I feel like we're all about to change. Wouldn't it be cool to document what our dreams are now before they happen? Anyways, if you guys get time, would love to know.
Love you all
Katy

Mis perros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So if you haven't heard David and I are getting two puppies in about two weeks! One is an American Pit Bull Terrier we named Roman. His mother was pregnant at a shelter and rescued by a kind lady. So we will be adopting Roman soon, he stays with his momma till he's 8 weeks old. (Oh and this has been David's dream dog) And then my dream dog- Ever since I was little and watched Disney's "Fox and the Hound" I too wanted to own a baby fox. So David and I decided to buy a Pembroke Welsh Corgi from a local breeder. The lady owns and shows horses and happens to be passionate about Corgi's as well. So we contacted her and she had a new litter, at the same age as Roman! So we picked out a little girl and have named her Lilly or Lil Fox. :)

We are getting both around Valentines Day weekend!!!!!!! I know its crazy but I wanted the puppies to grow up together and be friends, though it'll be insane for a couple of weeks with two 8 week old puppies....The pictures below are mostly of Roman because we can see him every couple of weeks because her owner lives close to us. Lily is in a town about three hours away from us so we haven't got to see her yet. So the pictures we have of her are from her breeder. She is the one on the far right on all the pictures below with a wide white stripe between her eyes. OH and we just got to see Roman a couple of days ago!!

Christmas in Arkansas!

So David and I are so happy that we had the opportunity to come to Arkansas for Christmas. It was so refreshing to be around people who know us...who are hilarious and make me tear up laughing. To be around my dad and hear his wisdom, to get one of my mom's famous hugs, to see Summit's new faces and how he's nearly walking, to appreciate my sister who goes to great lengths to make sure everyone's happy, to see Drew mature & grow into a godly man, to talk to Shelby and slowly realize nothing has changed about our friendship since we were in 6th grade. To love on David's family. All things that made me feel so complete. Yeah it sounds cheesy "you complete me". But its true! These are things that fill up my emotional tank to the brim, even spilling over. I realize this is something that will always be true about my hometown, my family, my old friends. Something that simply cannot be reproduced. Though its a somewhat sad realization it doesn't mean my current experiences with friends here arent as enjoyable, they just aren't familiar. But I also realize it took years to form friendships with all you girls, with even my family. And even though I had like 3 melt downs while I was there just thinking I would have to leave friends and family, I look forward to the long road ahead of me. Am I being dramatic? Probably...but its taken me a year of living here in Florida to realize this. That hometown is familiar, warm, safe...but that is not where God wants me to be right now. I am so grateful for that. To even have place to go back to. So many people run away from home never wanting to look back. I thank God that there is a hometown with my pictures on the walls, where family prays for me from afar. I will say it was an amazing feeling to come back to 70 degree weather, sunshine, a shining ocean. To see my cats, sleep in my bed. I'm slowly getting used to the idea that Sarasota is my home. David is my home. We are each other's family. I do look forward to the day when it doesn't hurt so badly thinking about friends and family back home. But I can say with confidence I haven't grown this much spiritually this past year in a long long time. God has drug me through some difficult things, emotionally wrecking things. But He also has built me up. And I'm truely thankful & joyful for His friendship.

Thankyouthankyouthankyou...

Thanks to each and everyone of you who has been praying for the Butler's friend situation! We have some friends that live about 45 minutes away, and we never got to see them...and they live in the boonies...big time. I think there's about 400 people that live in their town. Think Goshen, or Little Flock, or things of the sort. Ok, back on track. We recently discovered that we both love to climb and that there is a climbing gym (that is huge) in our city! We both got a membership and now we get to see them maybe once or twice a week. Then we get to go to this super awesome teeny timy diner and have coffee with them. And, yes, it is stereotypical diner coffee. But, it is so so fun to have a hobby to do with other people who are in love with Jesus and like you for more than what you could do for them. Thank you Jesus, thank you ladies, thank you friends.
